Welcome to the

Rise Advocates® Academy

My name is Diana Patton and I am the founder of the Rise Advocates® Digital Academy where we’ve helped so many women leaders, just like you, overcome challenges and adversities to gain the clarity, confidence, and courage to speak up and to take action on their deep calling, and serve others along the way.

Rise Advocates® Academy

Let me start by saying, "you're not crazy" for feeling this way - especially if these feelings seem to intensify after you leave most work meetings, or get in your car after a day of work, right before you go to bed, and especially on Sunday night.

Here’s the truth: Your discontent is really your soul telling you there is more for you, encouraging you to speak up for yourself once and for all, and to identify your true calling.

When you are finally ready to answer this very important call, here’s what you'll discover:

When you are finally ready to answer this very important call, here’s what you'll discover:

Sounds amazing, doesn’t it?

It’s not some dream or fantasy, it’s a reality.

Before starting the Rise Advocates® Academy, I felt stuck, doing jobs I knew paid well, yet I never felt a sense of fulfillment, and I didn’t believe anyone was valuing my true worth potential.

I started to do what I am asking you to do …

I started to invest in myself through coaching and development, to discover who I was, to understand what was at the bottom of my heart, to believe in my deep calling, and what I’ve been put on this earth to do.

After graduating from law school, I took my first personal development session, and for the first time, someone asked me to define my values, to write my story, and, I was asked the the most important question of my life, “what happened to you?”

What I discovered was that growing up with an abusive father, who was White, and a Black mom, in the late seventies, with five older sisters, and one younger brother, in a small rural town in Ohio, where my father’s family “disowned” us for being Black, deeply impacted my life, more than I thought.

I was generally a determined, disciplined kid who liked to laugh a lot, but I grew deeply bitter as I felt the resentment and the loss of never fully having a childhood where I felt heard, seen, valued and accepted. Growing up and living at the intersection of race, and never felling like I belonged in either race, made me view my life differently than those around me.

I discovered after a doing a lot of personal coaching work, that the survival skills I learned from my childhood trauma, gave me the grit, and the “I’ll show them” attitude to experience what looked like “success.” I went onto college, “walked-on” to the track team, become a captain, started my first corporate job when I was 19, graduated with honors, and went on to law school.

I became a licensed attorney, quickly gained upward mobility in my corporate jobs, went on to become a corporate executive, a sought after community leader and inspiration speaker, frequently speaking up about justice, and even starting my own business. However, I started to realize that my mindset and my attitude was going to keep me sick, tired, unattached, and likely burning up from my own trauma. I frequently suffered from hidden barriers that often held me back.

One example of this was I almost didn’t marry the love of my life, my husband, just because he was White. After years of dating, I finally married this amazing man. It hasn’t always been easy, but it certainly has been worth all of the 25 years that we’ve been married. We have two amazing, beautiful adult children.

Over the years, these hidden barriers have shown up causing me to question my abilities as an entrepreneur, as a mother, as a wife, and as a friend. When George Floyd was murdered, I suffered the deepest depression and severe anxiety. Yet, this became my greatest learning and growth.

Because of my persistent faith in God, my commitment to my spiritual, mental, and physical wellness, continuing to attend several personal and professional development events, having a business coach, and my insatiable desire to read, learn and grow, I realize my deep calling and mission.

I developed the Rise Advocates® Academy because I know I am not alone. I’ve written about my life in my books, Inspiration in My Shoes, and This Yogi’s Journey.

What if you had someone you believed in you, guided you to identify the next step to get you to where you want to be - someone who would be there for you just as you’ve been there for others? It’s time for you to rise.
Here’s what we know, you NEED to work with us.
In fact, our WORLD needs you to work with us. Here’s why.

It will take 136 years for women to experience the same equity as men. That number increased by 36 years after the pandemic.

Far too often, we still disproportionately see white males in the position with the most power in organizations, schools, nonprofits, and even entrepreneurial fields of personal development.

With the onset of the social justice movements, like #MeToo, systemic racism, and a worldwide pandemic, it’s as if a spotlight has been blasted on the inequities that exist in our world, that points right to the very gifts that each one of us has to solve these problems.

WE NEED a community of like-minded elevation growth leaders working together to support one another with real conversations about how to say NO to unjust systems, and the courage to CHANGE it, once and for all.

We need Rise Advocates® rallying for diversity, equity, inclusion, empathy, respect, social and emotional learning, trauma-informed care, mental health and social services, self-care, justice, within their business, careers, and in their schools and educational systems.

We need confident women leading with a growth and healing mindset, and helping other young women along the way.
